CAPITAL REGION, N.Y. -- A Summit man was given the maximum sentence of seven years in prison and ten years of post-release supervision for having sex with a girl less than 15.
George Clark pleaded guilty to rape in the second degree.
According to police, Clark said he ''befriended'' the girl and was not a stranger to her. He was arrested when police found Clark hiding in a tree in Schenectady while trying to run away from police.
Clark waived his right to appeal and will have to register as a sex offender upon release.
