What better way to celebrate a Schoharie Valley reopening than with flowers. Guernsey's Nursery on Bridge Street has recovered from the flood waters of two tropical storms and invited the village to stop by and smell the flowers. Erin Vannella has more.

SCHOHARIE, N.Y. -- Months after flooding caused millions in damage to the Town of Schoharie, one of its landmarks is now open again.

Guernsey's Schoharie nursery is back open almost nine months after being flooded by Tropical Storms Irene and Lee.

The ribbon cutting signified a lot of hard work to get it up and running again. That work included digging, rebuilding, repairing structures and equipment, irrigation systems and not to mention plant recovery.

Some trees and bushes had even traveled along the water and relocated in people's back yards.

"It's been a long battle as I said. You know, it's really a pleasure to have greenery back out and plants blooming and flowering and people around and buying shrubs," said owner Floyed Guernsey III.

The nursery has been in the Guernsey family for 123 years.
