Jurors are deliberating a murder case in Port Jervis. Todd Sinclair is accused of killing 21-year-old Randy Kizer last February. After closing arguments on Monday, the case went to the jury Tuesday morning. Our Elaina Athans has the story.

ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- "I thought [the trial] would be over with already. I didn’t think it would be played out this long," said the victim's father, Ron Kizer Sr.

A father longs for a verdict and questions why someone would kill his son. It's been more than a year since Randy Kizer died.

Todd Sinclair is charged in the murder. A jury now deliberating in a case, the prosecution says was all over a girl.

“He never met my son, he didn't know my son. It’s just kind of weird that someone goes up and shoots someone that they didn’t. So I think it was all over jealousy. He was just jealous," said Kizer.

In February 2011, a residential street in Port Jervis turned into a crime scene. The prosecution argues Sinclair shot Kizer and then fled.

Sinclair took the stand during the trial.

"He actually said how he did it. He walked up to the car and he shot him," said Kizer.

Sinclair has been charged with second degree murder, manslaughter and other counts. His defense attorney did not make himself available for comment.

The victim's father says he just wants to be done with court proceedings so he and his family can hopefully move forward.

"It brings all the memories up like it first happened, but we just want some closure on it," said Kizer.

This trial began in mid-April. Jurors are now going through testimony of about 20 witnesses, including Sinclair.

Deliberations continue on Wednesday.
