NEW YORK STATE -- On Tuesday, state lawmakers and law enforcement officials will honor officers who have died while protecting New Yorkers in the line of duty. One of the fallen officers honored will be Poughkeepsie Police Detective John Falcone.

Falcone was shot and killed last February while responding to a domestic dispute call in the city.

The 27 police officers will be recognized during the state’s annual Police Officers’ Memorial Remembrance Ceremony in Albany.

The names of the fallen officers are randomly placed on the black granite wall of the memorial without rank, to signify that every officer's sacrifice is the same.
