ARLINGTON, VA -- President Obama will make his third trip to the Capital Region next week. The president will visit Malta where he will give a speech on the economy at GlobaFoundries on Tuesday. Details are being kept under wraps for now, but it's certain the Secret Service is in place, checking the area out.

Ahead of his trip to New York, Obama spent some time Friday at a high school in Arlington, Virginia. Obama spoke to juniors and graduating seniors and their parents about the need to keep federal interest rates from doubling on July 1st. He said he not only wants the youth of America to have a quality education, but to also get a good job after they graduate.

Obama said the most important thing for the economy is to give all Americans the best education possible. He said that means hiring and rewarding the best teachers and also stepping up the focus on math and science.

"This country has always made a commitment to put a good education within the reach of everybody willing to work for it," he said. "That's what makes special. That's the kind of investment in our own people that help us lead the world in business, and science, and technology, and medicine. That is what made us an economic super power."

The president also commented on the weak jobs report Friday. The latest report from the U.S. Labor Department shows for the second straight month, employers didn't do much hiring; only 115,000 jobs were added in April. Obama said starting next week he's going to urge Congress to take action on job growth.
