Three people are facing arson charges in Rotterdam after police say they detonated explosive devices twice at a man's home and once on his truck. Police arrested them after a month long investigation. Erin Vannella has more.

ROTTERDAM, N.Y. -- Rotterdam Police joined forces with the New York State Police Department and the FBI to announce details of a month long arson investigation.

Police say three repeat offenders were caught in the act.

Michael Chambers, his girlfriend Amy Brzoza and Larry Ahrens have each been charged with arson.

Police say the trouble began back in February when the victim befriended Larry Ahren's ex-girlfriend.

Police say in the beginning of March, one of the suspects damaged the victim's home with a screw driver. Then a few days later, the home was targeted again, this time with an explosive device. Another explosive was thrown through the window a week later and shortly after on the home's roof.

Police say all of the acts cost thousands of dollars worth of damage.

"They were described to us as dynamite, but it is not actually dynamite. Basically a homemade device which is larger than an M-80," said Rotterdam Police Department Lieutenant Michael Brown.

Police say more arrests and more charges are pending.
