LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. -- Pollsters say it's a consumer confidence number they haven't seen in nearly five years. A new Siena Research poll shows people's "willingness to spend" has gone up in all nine New York regions surveyed.
Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Mid-Hudson are areas included. Confidence is up between eight and 13 percentage points, depending on where you live.
Siena Research Institute says consumers remain cautious but are finally ready to make those purchases they've been putting off.
Many plan on putting money toward their homes, buying things like furniture and making home improvements.
