SAUGERTIES, N.Y. -- It didn't take police long to make arrests linked to an afternoon bank robbery in Saugerties.

According to police, shortly after 1 p.m., a bank robbery occurred at the Sawyer Savings Bank on Market Street. Three individuals made off with an unspecified amount of cash.

Then, about three hours later, Saugerties Police say they had three men in custody in connection with the robbery.

State Police and the Ulster County Sherriff’s office also took part in the investigation.

"It is our belief that these individuals are the only individuals involved in the incident. So, the answer to your question, yes, we do believe we have everybody responsible in custody," said Saugerties Deputy Police Chief Joseph Sinagra.

Police say no one was injured during the robbery.

The investigation is still ongoing.
