SARATOGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- A convicted sex offender has been accused of sexually abusing an eight-year-old girl.

State Police arrested Michael Wheeler, 36, of Glens Falls, for sexual abuse.

Police say Wheeler, who is a level one sex offender, had sexual contact with an eight-year-old girl while at a camp ground in Hadley in 2007. Police say she and other children were in his care at the camp.

Wheeler was arraigned and taken to the Saratoga County Jail on bail.
