SARATOGA, N.Y. -- Harness racing is brought to a halt at Saratoga Raceway due to an infection among the horses.
The Saratoga Casino and Raceway has cancelled live harness racing after discovering several cases of "Strangles," an acute respiratory infection in horses.
Officials said it's a preventative, precautionary measure, since they don't want the infection to spread throughout the backstretch.
Racing is expected to resume April 11th.
