As the investigation continues into the double homicide in Amsterdam, we're learning more details on the incident. Beth Croughan reports.
AMSTERDAM, N.Y. -- Amsterdam Police identify the victims from the double homicide on Locust Avenue.
Police said they found Cheryl Goss, 46, and William McDermott, 56, stabbed to death Friday morning in McDermott's apartment. A neighbor called police after finding blood in the hallway.
Police are looking into drugs as a motive. Though they don't have a suspect at this time, they say the murders don't appear to be random.
Neighbors said it's frightening to have this happen in their community.
"Very sad," said one neighbor. "I'm scared. Especially it being right near your doorstep."
"Usually it's very quiet. Not so much drama since i've been here," said another neighbor.
Police still have made no arrests in these deadly stabbings. Anyone with information is asked to call Amsterdam Police. This is the first homicide in Amsterdam since 2010.
