LATHAM, N.Y. -- Some local kids got a little education during summer break.
Children from the Colonie Youth Center were invited to tour Time Warner Cable's media offices in Latham. Six learning stations were set up, teaching kids everything from electricity to physics. It's all part of Time Warner's Connect a Million Minds initiative, also known as "CAMM." Here, the subject matter focused on STEM.
"STEM being science, technology, engineering and math and each of the stations allows them a hands-on experience with each of those initiatives, so we're really thrilled to have them with us today," said Time Warner Cable Media General Manager Cindy Applebaum.
Students were able to produce their own "CAMM" commercial and were able to take a DVD home of the final production.
Time Warner Cable is the parent company of YNN and we are committed to the Connect a Million Minds program, inspiring youth to develop science, technology, engineering and math skills. For more information on the initiative, go to connectamillionminds.com.
