TROY, N.Y. -- A Troy woman accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend to death has admitted to murder.
Kim Mayo, 37, originally told police she was acting in self defense when she stabbed Keith Levin to death last May. Tuesday morning, Mayo entered a guilty plea to first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in Rensselaer County Court.
Police say a fight between Mayo and Levin led to the stabbing on an Eighth Street sidewalk in Troy.
Mayo is set to be sentenced to 10 years in prison later this month.
