SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Two fires started on Sunday night have been deemed "suspicious" according to Schenectady Fire Chief Michael Della Rocco.
The fires were started within hours of each other. Della Rocco said that it's safe to say the fires were intentionally set by someone.
The first fire broke out around 6:30 p.m. at 133 Elder Street and the second started at 8:45 p.m. at 1205 State Street.
Both fires originated in the basement of the buildings.
No one was injured in either of the fires and the residents were allowed back in the house on Elder Street.
