ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. -- A benefit was held Friday night to support victims of a recent fire in Latham.

The Moffre family was left with only the clothes they were wearing when they escaped from the flames at their apartment complex this past weekend.

Since they don't have insurance, a family member organized the benefit in Watervliet on Friday, to raise money to help in their recovery. Several local businesses donated prizes to be raffled off and a 50-50 rally was also held, with all the proceeds going to the family.

If you would like to help out the family, you can make a monetary donation. They're also looking for household items like furniture and clothes.

Monetary donations are being accepted at Pioneer Bank.

If you'd like to drop off household items, furniture, clothes or toys, you can do so at the Watervliet Civic Center.
