TROY, N.Y. -- City leaders in Troy will announce new initiatives to help curb violence in the city on Monday.
Mayor Lou Rosamilia and Police Chief John Tedesco are holding a news conference Monday afternoon to reveal new law enforcement plans developed with the Troy police department.
This comes on the heels of a recent shooting in Troy. Last week, Phillip McMilan, 17, was shot in the head during a drive by shooting. His death marked the third homicide this year in the Collar City.
On Friday, community members marched in remembrance of the victims, including Shakim Miller, 36, who was shot and killed earlier this month. They also called for help-saying the community needs to come together to put an end to the violence.
