Clouds Increase, Showers Spread Later
Scattered Showers, More Humid Through Midweek
As high pressure weakens and retreats off the New England coast it leaves room for moisture over and off the mid Atlantic coast to move into the Northeast with a change toward cloudier skies, not as warm, but more humid weather the next few days. Today showers will spread northward from the coast through the Hudson Valley and Catskills, especially from midday onward and into the Capital Region and northward by evening. Showers may include a few locally heavy downpours and a rumble of thunder through the evening, tapering to an occasional shower, some fog and drizzle later tonight. We see the pattern of variable clouds and scattered showers through midweek, when there could be a few more breaks of sun. Temps won't be as warm, reaching the 70s the next couple of days and closer to 80 mid week with overnight lows around 60 as humidity levels come up. Right now it looks like the warmup into the 80s will continue into the Holiday Weekend..
