HALFMOON, N.Y. -- A new post office has opened its doors in Halfmoon.
The new contract postal unit is sharing a space inside DeVoe's Rainbow Orchards. Patrons can now enjoy shopping for locally produced fruits and veggies while being able to pick up stamps or mail a package at the same time.
DeVoe employees say the post office is a great addition to their shop which already offers customers things they use every day.
"We really thought it was a terrific fit for us. It brought back that old general store feel, which is what we wanted. A way for community to come in and meet and greet their friends and family and visit while they were taking care of their, like I said, their day to day needs and wants," said Joy DeVoe.
Residents can use the post office from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday during the summer. Sunday hours will be added after Labor Day.
