SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- The start of the summer season in Saratoga kicks off this weekend at the SPAC.

Officials gathered Thursday to discuss the upcoming concert season and efforts to reduce alcohol abuse during the summer concert season.

The Zac Brown Band plays Friday night. Other acts and events include Dave Matthews Band, Phish, the Beach Boys and the New York City Ballet, just to name a few.

Officials said they will once again be cracking down on alcohol abuse to keep SPAC a family-friendly environment.

New York State Parks Commissioner Rose Harvey said, "To let everybody know how important it is to be respectful of everybody, and we are going to take preventive measures to discourage illegal or excessive drinking and make this a cultural experience."

SPAC’s Amphitheatre recently had a facelift thanks to a generous donation made by former Chairman Bill Dake and his wife, Susan.
