ALBANY, NY. -- Many people enjoyed the weather this year as The Albany Tulip Festival wraps up. But of course the event wouldn't be complete without the crowning of a new Mother of the Year.
Five finalists were chosen from 80 nominations. Finalists are chosen for their commitment to their family, especially children.
This year’s winner is Helen Hagen of Rexford. Helen says every mother nominated was deserving of the award.
Helen has nine kids and said although it's easier now that four have gone to college and grad school, but she still has her work cut out for her with five still living at home.
