ALBANY COUNTY, N.Y. – There were major delays for the ride home Friday evening after a two car accident on I-90.

It happened just before 4 p.m. Friday at exit 1S on the Westbound side of the highway.

Albany fire officials on the scene say five people were injured in the crash. One person was unconscious and a second had to be extracted from one of the cars. The victims' conditions are not known.

Battalion Chief Mike Burns says the exact cause is unknown, but it appears one car was moving slowly or stopped when it was hit from behind.

There were significant delays for about an hour and a half. The accident has since been cleared up.
