AAA reports the highest average price for a gallon of gas in the Capital Region was recorded in 2008. While prices are not nearly that high this holiday weekend, they're still over four dollars. Our Beth Croughan has more.

ALBANY, N.Y. -- "I'm filling up right now to go to my parents' house," said Zack Vogel of Albany while filling up his car at a local gas station.
Vogel is making a two-hour trip this holiday weekend, but said there's pain each time he pays at the pump.
"It hurts right now. It hurts," said Vogel of the prices.
According to AAA, a gallon of gas in the Capital Region costs about $4.08. That's up six cents from last week and 24 cents from a year ago.
"There's really no way to predict if they're going to go up for Memorial Day or Fourth of July, but we are seeing that they have increased," explained Danielle Taylor of AAA Northway.
Taylor said they could stay steady for the busier travel holidays or go up even more.
"Do you have any plans for Memorial Day? Or Independence Day to travel?" we asked Julie Record of South Glens Falls. "I haven't even thought about it yet, but if I do, I don't know if I'll be driving," she said.
But for those traveling by car those weekends or this one, AAA's Taylor suggested TripTik. The online and smartphone application maps out the prices of gas along your route.
"People are still going to travel, they're still going to take vacations. As far as the distance that they're traveling it might be a little different. They might stay closer to home," she said.
