POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- Poughkeepsie Police arrest the man they said shot a 7-11 clerk at a store on Hooker Avenue.

Police said Michael Post, 29, fit the initial description of their suspect when an officer said he spotted him Monday night walking in and out of traffic.

Post is facing first degree robbery charges after police say he walked into the 7-11, demanded cash and then shot the clerk in the leg.

Police said robberies are not commonplace for that part of the area, which is near Vassar College.

The clerk was treated at a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
