HUDSON VALLEY -- Metro-North is expanding its "Quiet Cars" program. The program first began about six months ago on certain peak hour trains on the Hudson and Harlem lines.
The program is now being expanded to all rush-hour trains on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines after Metro-North took a survey and found riders supported it.
In the mornings, the designated "quiet car" will be the last car of the train. In the afternoons, it'll be the first one.
Cellphones, music players and other electronic devices are prohibited unless they can be used quietly or the rider is using headphones. The expansion takes effect April 2nd.
