ORANGE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Officials are hoping someone will want to take on a 360-bed nursing home with $19 million worth of debt in Orange County.

The Orange County Department of General Services is now accepting proposals for those looking to buy the Valley View nursing home.

County Executive Ed Diana, county legislators, the facility's union workers, and patients and their families have been sparring for months over what should be done with Valley View.

Diana believes the county will find a buyer to come in and take over, though some county lawmakers have said that's unlikely given the economy and the real estate market.

The Department of General Services will be accepting proposals until May 7th.
