GREENE COUNTY, N.Y. -- The family of a woman killed in a crash on the Thruway early Friday morning said they will remember her as a 'people person' who always cared for others.
Carol Dion was on her way to visit family in the Bronx at the time of the accident. She was riding with her friend Karen Weller and Weller's four-month-old baby.
State Police said Julian With was driving northbound in the southbound lane when he hit them.
Dion's family said she moved from Jamaica to Ontario for a better life; but that, she still helped out friends by sending things back to her native country.
"She'll give you the last, that's just Carol, and she goes out of her way to make sure that everybody is happy. She's all about family. She's just an awesome person and she's going to be greatly missed," said Carol Dion’s cousin, Sceon Brown Leslie.
Carol Dion's family says Karen Weller and her baby are currently in stable condition.
