GREENE COUNTY, N.Y. -- Bethlehem police say the man who caused yesterday's fatal crash on the Thruway had been arrested just hours before the crash occurred.

Officials didn't provide many details, but said he violated an order of protection on Thursday. He posted bail and was released.

Early yesterday morning, state police said that Julian With hit a minivan carrying three passengers, including a child.

Troopers say he was driving northbound in the southbound lane.

With, and Carol Dion, 50 of Ontario, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The other passengers, Karen Weller, 39, and a four-month-old were taken to the hospital. The baby is listed in critical condition. Weller is listed in good condition.

Investigators say the family was on their way down from Canada to visit family in the Bronx.
