COLONIE, N.Y. -- A Colonie Police Officer faces a 30 day suspension without pay after a bar fight in Lake George last August.

The Warren County Sheriff’s department arrested Robert Willey on misdemeanor assault charges.

They said that Willey, along with three or four fellow officers were celebrating an event at King Neptune's pub last summer when a fight broke out.

Colonie Police said that they'll let Warren County's criminal investigation play out before conducting an internal investigation.

Chief Steven Heider describes the brawl. "Just imagine a very crowded bar on a Saturday night fueled by alcohol and something happened. Somebody got pushed and the next thing you know there’s a pile of people on the floor. And at the end of the day, someone got injured. It's alleged that Officer Willey possibly punched somebody and that's what's going to have to be determined by Warren County,” said Steven Heider, Colonie Police Department Chief.

Heider said that Officer Willey was in "very good standing" with the department prior to the incident.
