RENSSELAER, N.Y. -- A boil water advisory is in effect for part of the City of Rensselaer after a water main break Thursday night.

The affected area is from Petition Street north to I-90 at Washington Avenue.

The water department says a new valve has to be installed, and residents who live in the area may have little to no water pressure.

The boil advisory will be in effect until at least Monday.
