Arraignment in hit and run case
HOOSICK, N.Y. -- The woman accused in a fatal hit and run in the town of Hoosick has been arraigned in Rensselaer County Court.
Police say Becky Goodermote was driving on Route 22 last September when she hit Matthew Ratelle, who was riding his bicycle on the shoulder. Police say Ratelle was thrown about 30 yards. Despite wearing a helmet, he was seriously injured and later died at the hospital.
Goodermote is accused of driving off without reporting the incident. She faces 14 counts including manslaughter, vehicular manslaughter, driving while impaired by drugs, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Her next court date is April 15th.
