State Police seek help in identifying assault suspect

CLIFTON PARK, N.Y. -- State Police are asking for the public's help as they investigate an assault complaint at a home in the Town of Clifton Park.

Shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday, State Police said a 67-year-old man answered his door and was confronted by the suspect who asked him his name, then hit him over the head with a metal pipe. The victim was taken to St. Mary's Hospital where he was treated for a head laceration.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s, about 5'10" tall and 165 lbs. He was driving a white SUV, possibly a Nissan Pathfinder, that was last seen heading toward Clifton Park Center Road.

Anyone with information is asked to contact State Police in Clifton Park at 383-8583.
