QUEENSBURY, N.Y. -- A Washington County woman is dead after crashing her truck in the Town of Queensbury early Friday morning.
According to the Warren County Sheriff's office, Trudy Chesney, 32, of Hudson Falls, was killed after her pickup truck drove off of Corinth Road.
Deputies say Chesney was heading west at around 3:45 a.m. when she slammed into a guard rail and the truck went airborne. They say the pickup also hit a utility pole and several trees before landing upside down.
Chesney, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and found dead in a creek.
While investigators have not pinpointed a cause, they say they do not think alcohol played a role.
"We have no indication alcohol was a factor, however, toxicology will be performed as part of the normal investigatory process. We investigators researching as to where she may have been heading to or where she may have been coming from at that time of night," said Warren County Undersheriff Shawn Lamouree.
The road was shut down for several hours Friday while crews cleared the scene and worked to repair power lines.
