BOSTON, Mass. -- A former U.S. Navy Seal announces his bid in the race for Massachusetts Senate. Businessman Gabriel Gomez is the second Republican to throw his hat in the ring. Representative Daniel Winslow announced his candidacy last week.

Democratic Congressman Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch have already announced their interest in running.

The seat was formerly held by John Kerry, who is now Secretary of State.

The primary is April 30th and the special election is on June 25th.
