NEW YORK STATE -- State police say they're ready for the storm.

We're told aside from having a full staff of troopers for all shifts, they’re also working with local county emergency operations across the state in the event of any evacuations or medical emergencies.

State police are also asking that drivers keep a few tips in mind, if they do have to venture out into the storm.

Be aware of changing weather conditions.

Keep in mind that bridges and exit ramps can be icy even if other roads are not.

Clean all snow and ice from your entire vehicle and make sure the windshield is completely clear of frost.

If you do become stranded, stay with your car.
