NEW YORK STATE -- It's only been posted online for a short time, but Senator Kathy Machione's online petition to repeal the SAFE Act already has tens of thousands of signatures.

Marchione, who voted against the law, says it weakens the Second Amendment rights of New Yorkers. She says the law unfairly impacts law abiding citizens, without doing enough address problems like mental health.

Marchione called on New Yorkers to sign the petition, promising to personally deliver it to the governor and legislative leaders.
