TROY, N.Y. -- Police in Troy are looking for the man they say robbed and stabbed a man in the city. It happened around 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the area of 3rd and Congress streets.

Police say the suspect walked up to the victim and acted as though they knew each other and when the victim said he didn't know the suspect, he was attacked and stabbed. He was able to fight the man off, but not before he took his money.

Police have a loose description of the man they're looking for. He's said to have been wearing a light colored jacket, and is in his 30s.

The victim is expected to be okay.
