GREENVILLE, N.Y. -- State police are investigating a homicide in the Town of Greenville. Police were called to check on a resident on West Road on Tuesday. According to troopers, Scott Myer, 40, was found dead.

Neighbors say Myer was a quiet man, who kept to himself. One person says his aunt and uncle were the ones who notified police. That person also says his uncle walks every morning and noticed the home looked very desolate.

"Noticed the light was on in the house for about a week. Didn't think anything of it but then he noticed it wasn't plowed after the snow storm and mail shoved in the box. So he decided to call. We find out it was a death," said Dan Gulisan, a resident.

"These are crimes you normally hear up in Albany, little more of an urban environment than a rural one. But crimes happen everywhere," said another resident, Michael DiGiovanni.

State police are still looking for suspects, and a motive. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at (518) 622-8600.
