SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – It was a wild chase for Saratoga Springs Police just hours into the new year.

Saratoga police say Aaron Elliot, 25, of Johnsonville was spotted taking a left hand turn from the right hand lane onto Broadway around 1 a.m. Tuesday. Police tried to stop Elliot but he took off speeding through the Pizza Hut and McDonald's parking lots. Other officers tried to stop him, but he drove off.

Police say six vehicles were damaged and a few were totaled. One person was also taken to Saratoga Hospital with minor injuries.

Elliot was eventually arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, unlawful fleeing, improper lane use, failure to comply with lawful order of the police, among other charges. Police say he's also got prior DWI convictions in the last 10 years.
