NEW YORK STATE -- The saga over the 46th State Senate District continues. Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk's campaign is filing an appeal on the 333 votes discarded by a Montgomery County judge.
The campaign says 54 ballots in Democratic heavy Ulster County were thrown out for "hyper-technical" reasons. They say the ballots were tossed because they were handed out prior to a two week waiting period.
Lawyers for Tkaczyk also say 206 ballots were discarded because voters had not properly listed their previous address.
Republicans have already declared George Amedore the winner in the newly drawn district.
This is the last outstanding race in the state legislature.
A GOP response to the Tkaczyk filing is expected by Friday.
