NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. -- Thursday's winter weather is postponing meetings related to another major storm.
The Moreland Commission investigating utility companies in the wake of Superstorm Sandy was set to have hearings in Queens and Staten Island this week. Those hearings will not take place.
The meeting were planned in order to get public input on emergency preparedness and the response of utilities to Sandy. The commission is also looking for recommendations for better oversight of the utilities to ensure reliable power.
New dates for the hearings have not yet been posted.
