COHOES, N.Y. -- Cohoes firefighters took on a special holiday assignment, helping Santa for the annual "Cheer for Children" program.

After parking his reindeer on the roof of the firehouse, he hitched a ride with the city's bravest to make his rounds.

"The kids of Cohoes are really good kids. Some of these children are extremely excited to see me and driving on the fire truck gives Santa a thrill as well. So it's a combination of fun for everybody," Santa said.

It's the 15th year the department helped ol' Saint Nick deliver presents to kids in the city.
