ALBANY, N.Y. -- Veterans received an early Christmas present from a local law firm. The Tully-Rinckey law firm donated 15 coats to the Albany Housing Coalition's Veteran's House.

Albany Mayor Jerry Jennings, a veteran himself, says it's something vets don't deserve to go through.

"Homeless and veteran should not be together. That should not be stated together. In this country, the United States of America, we should be thanking our veterans, making sure that what happens when they get out is positive in their lives," said Mayor Jennings.

According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development, over 62,000 vets were homeless at some point in 2012.
