SULLIVAN COUNTY, N.Y. -- The Fallsburg Police Department held a toy drive Sunday at the South Fallsburg Youth and Senior Center. The event is held every year in order to collect toys for the kids in the town.

Kids were able to come to the center, have a visit with Santa and receive a present.

This year, all of the gifts were purchased with the almost $4,000 in donations that came from county and local businesses.

Members of the department say they were able to share the holiday joy with over 200 families.

"We realize with today's economy, there's a lot of families in need and we like to give back to the children and see their expressions and hopefully make their holidays better," said Robert Noller of the Fallsburg Police Department.

The event was made possible with the help of high school organizations and the Fallsburgh Teacher Association, all who donated funds and helped wrap the gifts.
