NEW YORK -- Remaining ballots in the battle for the 46th State Senate District are set to be opened today. Ballots for Albany, Schenectady, and Montgomery counties are expected to be counted in Montgomery County Court, while votes in Ulster County will be tallied at the Ulster County Board.
This comes after attorneys for Republican George Amedore and Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk were back into court this week, debating whether or not to delay opening the ballots.
There are 887 contested absentee and affidavit ballots in question, many of them unopened. The GOP is also objecting some of the ballots.
At last count, Amedore leads Tkaczyk by 111 votes.
Tallies for Greene County are expected to be opened on Monday morning.
