WESTERLO, N.Y. -- A man was rescued after an accident involving a tractor in the town of Westerlo. Emergency responders say the man was about a mile into the woods in Westerlo gathering stone for a project, when the tractor rolled over and pinned him underneath.

Another man nearby was working with a chainsaw, and when he shut it off, he heard the victim calling for help.

“He was quite a distance away on another road, and when he turned off his chainsaw heard the individual hollering for help. Upon that point he ran through the woods for approximately 45 minutes to find him, and at that point he called emergency services for us to respond,” said Tom Diedrich, Westerlo Fire Chief.

Rescue workers had to use a special ATV to get into the woods, to rescue the man. He was flown to the hospital, and there's no word on his condition.
