HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- An arrest has been made in the investigation into the homicide of Laurie Ferguson of Hyde Park.

State Police said Justin Curran, 36, was arrested Tuesday in Tampa.

The 67-year-old was found dead in her home at the Mobile Manor Trailer Park in Hyde Park on Thanksgiving. She had been stabbed multiple times.

Police said Curran lived in the same trailer park as Ferguson. He is facing second degree murder charges.

Dutchess County District Attorney's Office Bureau Chief Edward Whitesell said, "Mr. Curran will be arraigned hopefully tomorrow in the State of Florida on a fugitive complaint from the State of New York. He has two choices at that point. One, to agree to come back without having an extradition hearing. If he doesn't, the DA's office is prepared to get a governor's warrant to extradite him back."

Curran does have a previous criminal record, but officials did not elaborate during the news conference.

There is no word yet on a possible motive.
