KINGSTON, N.Y. -- Winter doesn't mean you can't get your hands on some farm fresh items in the Kingston area. Starting on Saturday in Bethany Hall of the Old Dutch Church on Wall Street, vendors will be available from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. through April.

Congressmen Chris Hinchey and Chris Gibson met with Kingston Mayor Shayne Gallo for the official garland cutting to kick off the winter market's first day. Just about 20 vendors and farmers will be on hand each market day to provide produce, baked goods and more.

“We do it to support the community and to support the farmers. All the farmers who are here at this market they love what they do and they love being able to supply the community with fresh delicious food and we want to make that available to people all year long,” said Kingston Farmers’ Market Manager Lori Hylton.

The market runs the first and third Saturday of each month.
