Virginia man leads police on chase

GUILDERLAND, N.Y. -- A Richmond, Virginia man was arrested after a high speed chase that led police from two separate departments down Route 146 and Western Avenue Saturday night.

Altamont police say they pulled over Nathanael David Hallmark, 34, around 9:30 p.m. They say Hallmark then sped away, going east on 146 towards Western Avenue, where they laid out spike strips.

According to police, the suspect continued onto Western, intentionally hitting two Guilderland police cars. They eventually stopped Hallmark near Sumter Ave. in Guilderland and took him into custody.

Hallmark now faces several charges, including attempted assault and reckless endangerment.
