TROY, N.Y. -- Thousands took to the streets on Thanksgiving for the Collar City's annual Turkey Trot.

The trot is in its 65th year and is the nation's 12th oldest road race.

More than 7,000 runners participated in Thursday's race. Many of those runners making today's race part of their holiday tradition.

"It's a tradition for us and we're looking to go for another 20 years at least," one person said.

"We like this tradition of all the people being together like this," said another person.

The run takes them through some of Troy's most historic neighborhoods.
