ALBANY, N.Y. -- Next week, we could have a winner in the 46th State Senate District. The contest between democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk and republican George Amedore has been extremely close.

It seems a 100 vote lead has alternated between the candidates, as updates trickle in on absentee ballots. However Amedore's spokesperson now says he has a 515 vote lead with two counties wrapping up their count.

Spokesman Kris Thompson also expects Montgomery County to begin counting Friday. He says Ulster County will begin counting Monday morning.

"It's nerve wracking process at times, it's an up and down process, some days you're up, some days you're down , one hour you're up, another hour you're down. But it's the American process, need to count every single vote," Amdeore said.

Any contested ballots will be set aside and both sides could head to court November 28th.
